We are in the heat of our den renovation and the amount of choices that need to be made, for this very small room, is incredible. And then you add on a powder room to that and it feels like we are constantly reviewing our choices and making decisions: sinks, tile, paint, furniture. You name it, we are talking about it and talking about it:)
One of the things currently up for debate are our wall sconces. Lighting just isn't my thing (I went to 11 lighting stores when we were doing our main floor renovation, need I say more). But, we have narrowed it down it a style, now we just need to make a decision on the finish.
We are split right down the middle on this one.
I attended a conference yesterday and had the privilege of hearing Scott Harrison, the founder of Charity: Water speak about his amazing non-profit organization that brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
He spoke about his upbringing and his 10 years as a club promoter in NYC. About how he left his old life, to start a new one, focused on turning the charity model upside down, and bringing millions of men, woman, and children fresh clean water.
His entire talk was incredible, but the most moving part was when he spoke about Rachel Beckwith. Rachel was a 9 year old girl, who gave up her birthday and asked her friends and family to donate the money they would have spent on gifts to Charity: Water.
So moving. So inspiring.
The video says it all.
I feels amazing to be home after a week of traveling.
It wasn't all work though, I did fit in a stop over in Calgary on my way home from BC to visit my cousin and her cute kids! We stopped at Toys "R" Us where they each spent the entire allotment of money that I gave them, not a penny to spare:)
We also made a necessary stop over at Crave cupcakes, my request not theirs. Add a movie, bubble blowing, playing hair salon, and a trip to the mall for the ladies to get my cousin a much needed new pair of designer jeans, and I was spent!
Relaxing is the only thing on my menu this long week. I hope you are enjoying yours.
